No measuring, large capacity: This waste bin is ideal for every fitted kitchen. The lid-lift system lifts the lid to one side as soon as you open the cupboard door. This ensures easy filling and removal of the inner bin. The waste bin is easy to assemble. You can choose yourself whether it goes on the right- or left-hand door. The Compact-Box 15 holds up to 15 litres and can be used with carousel units upwards of 40 cm wide.

Beware that the “outer bin” that holds the inner plastic bin you can take out is simply sheet of metal held in a round shape by two bits of plastic; one at the top, the other at the bottom. During assembly, the bottom plastic part came lose and the bin started to fall apart. Luckily I bought this product as a replacement, so I ended up creating a “Franken-bin” by using parts from the old and the new one.
Made in Germany isn’t what it used to be. Stay away from Hailo products.

|Do not expect this to last more than two years in normal use,
I bought one of these with a new kitchen. Installation was not a problem, and the bin worked well for a couple for years, but then the plastic lid came off the horizontal metal pin on which it pivots. I bought a cheap dented replacement bin on ebay, just for the lid, which I fitted to the bin. Sure enough after a couple of years, the lid came off the horizontal metal pin again. This appears to be a design fault. The plastic lid has on its underside one clip and one plastic eye through which the metal pin passes. The lid rotates from horizontal to near vertical when the door is opened and the bin is pulled out. Over time, the rubbing between the metal pin and the plastic eye wears through the plastic until the the lid falls off the pin. Avoid this product and buy the 15 Litre Brabantia built in bin instead.
